Hi, I am extremely new here and to coin collecting in general!!

I was wondering if anyone has an idea about this 2016 P nickel with a possible strikethrough error? Or just really intense damage?

There appears to be several strikes as well as an almost half-circle strike above Monticello.

Any opinions and information about what this is from is appreciated!! Thanks for your time!

if you can imagine scratching and dinging (damaging) a coin to make it look that way, that's probably what happened to your coin (damage)

Those aren't strikes. It is damage. Still worth 5 cents though.

Post mint damage ( PMD). Some of it could have come from a coin roll wrapping machine, but all the rest of the marks are just damage. Damage can happen a million different ways, but in the end, damage is just damage, whatever the cause. This nickel did not leave the mint looking this way. Keep searching!
