Are steel cents more prone to Machine Doubling than other metals?

Probably. The higher pressure needed to strike the coin probably resulted in the need for more frequent tightening of the machinery and when it was loose MDD would occur.

I've got somewhere between 30 to 35 rolls of those and not one has any type of doubling, obverse of reverse.
The 1943 Cent that is.

I'll have to post a few pics later, it does not look like normal doubling, more like a shadowy feature.
