There's been lots of posts in the recent past that refer to machine/mechanical doubling and how, normally, they are not worth much as for a premium. However, there ARE some great examples of Machine Doubling in some large cents. Many 1881's have some great nicely offset MD's, but here is one from George. It's some MD that certainly worth holding onto:

The coin has doubling on the entire CANADA, as well as most in CENT. I won't tell you the date, because it is found sometimes on a neat variety coin, scarce in its own right. Those who know, please don't post this dated large cent.

Awesome photos!

I know some memebers on here may think for good reason Machine Doubling is common and not worth anything, but just incase they dont know, when it comes to older coins from the 1800's to 1900's, back then to my understanding the dies and the striking process were more "hands on" and things like this rarely happened.

Now a days it happens all the time and thats why something like this should not be compared to modern day Machine Doubling IMO.

I agree not easy to find or common in the Victoria, Edward, + George series of coins. Except for a few Victoria years and I think only one for each other two Monarch's are recorded. The one Okie is showing is very hard to find as well as one in the Edward series.

Here's another very seldom seen variety from Queen Victoria there are 2 different years for this variety. This coin is the second year and scarcer than the previous year with this type obverse.
