I get frustrated. Although I buy mostly bullion, I also collect the occasional semi-collectible bullion series, like the Congo gorilla set. They sell for just over or at regular bullion prices. I' m up-to-date on the gorillas but I find on some other sets I forget or didn't see a particular entry in a series. Then I'm trapped because I have an incomplete series. I would only be able to buy the missing entry on ebay or something like that at a much higher price. Luckily, I hardly ever do that despite my OCD making me want to have a complete set. Have you guys encountered that? Or maybe you do a better job of monitoring your collection.

A bullion dealer will only offer melt less a %age when you try to sell them, irrespective of how interesting and varied your stash of silver one ounce coins may be. Wouldn't matter if you have complete sets or not.

Or will instead, will direct you to a coin dealer, who will still offer you the same sort of general terms.

That has been my experience, anyway.

I'm not collecting the series to sell them..God willing, I have no intention of selling them. I don't have any other vices, so why not. Maybe the issue will be my son's when I am gone. I told my son that he'd be best to sell these semi-collectible coins to collectors, not lcs. But you are right, I have no illusions that bullion coins with cool animals on them are still bullion. So I still get frustrated when I am missing one coin from a series.
