Quote: I never thought about investment potential when I purchased my first AGEs back in the 2000 timeframe, nor did I care (still don't). I feel this way about all my coin purchases all the time.

Well, for what it's worth ($2704.95, apparently), I was able to get into the Mint website and successfully place my order for a one-ounce proof coin with only a small amount of lag. I don't know if they actually improved things on their end or whether it's just that there aren't 100,000 people all trying to buy 15 of them at once.
I got the confirmation on screen, a confirmation email with an order number and even a text alert from my credit card company verifying the purchase, so it should be good...

The 4-coin set went unavailable very quickly (~5 min). I'm on the fence on the 1/10th oz., which is currently still available.

I got my 1/4oz in, though I had issues. I had to go thru checkout 4 times, the first 3 times it just bumped me to a 404 page.

I was able to place two orders and received order acknowledgement emails at 12:05 & 12:07 pm. The two order numbers are apart by 14,642. If that is the actual number of orders that went through in this tiny time frame rather than orders that went through plus those that ended up not being placed (error messages etc.), then that would be a huge credit to their server.

I was able to pick up the set of four, 1/2 oz and 1/10 oz. I was shut out of the 1/4 oz as I buy piecemeal so as I don't lose what I already have in the cart. I also received an error screen twice after clicking on the final pay link.
With talk of inflation AND actual inflation, I'm feeling good about the overpriced Mint offerings in gold. Good luck to all!

I bought the 4 coin set. Also had to go through checkout 4 times because of failure on the final step.
4 times must be the charm. :-)

Just curious, anybody know if the 2021 $5 proof gold type 2 became unavailable the first day release the 29th? They were on back order for a while later that day, when I checked the next morning they were gone as the other denominations. I got one in the first few minutes.
