Your highlighted photo, that looks like the stem took a hit and was pushed.
Now, I'll say that coins like this that are all beat up and wore out intrigue me.
There is always lots to examine.
I noticed two other areas of interest to me.
Either
Pareidolia or actually something on the die.
The shadows around the area on the "leaves" that I see, lead me to believe it is raised metal.
Its always extremely difficult to examine a coin from pictures.
Can you please take full coin pictures of this coin.
I'd like to see if the rims are equal or showing misalignment.

Between the E P, it looks like a P there to me.
The other looks like shifted leaf or just
Pareidolia.
