Many Coins All Completely 180 Degree Die Alignement Error

Bradbmtl New Member Canada 2 Posts	Posted 08/05/2021 06:21 am Ok guys so basicslly I came into alot of coins, here is an example of one handful I puleled out of a 50lb bag, all random values and years but All have the same error, 180degree die error! Second, US coins are struck with coin orientation, i.e. you have to flip the coin from top to bottom when you turn it over. Is this what you are seeing? Bradbmtl New Member Canada 2 Posts	Posted 08/05/2021 06:48 am Well if I take a newly minted canadian quarter for example, I look at it heads side and the fsce of the queen is right side up, her crown on top, if I flip this coin over (left to right) the tails side shows withna moose , antlers ontop. So I am guessing what you are saying is that US coins will show upside down if I turn them left to right? You are right if I flip it up-down everything is ok. I thouht it was strange that so many coins could have a mistake from an 1893 quarter to a 1953 dime lol rookie mistake. But I do have a couple canadian dominion coins that do appear upside down when I turn them left to right Report this Post to the Staff

This what is known as the Coinage Axis. When they are facing the same way, it is called a Medal Axis. Report this Post to the Staff
