I have never been one to care about anything but the coin. That said I stumbled on a local auction that features two rare PCGS holder types. I have researched and found that the coin does matter and coins that were not holdered as often may get more of a premium.

Both are Morgan dollars (common dates/ 64s) PCGS

1. Doily (Gen 2.0)
2. Gen 2.1

They are very scarce and scarce according to the PCGS Museum of Coin Holders. What value do these add to the coin or is it a multiple of the coin value?

ebay values are all over the place, generally many multiples of the coins value.
Rest in Peace

I have no idea what these add to the value of a coin but I'm interested in other opinions. I have seen Doily holders bring a premium but I don't know whether it was due to the conservative grading, the label itself or a combination. I do not recall ever seeing a Gen 2.1 listed as such at auction.
