So, let's get this out of the way first. MS62RD? I understand that the grading scale takes age and other factors into account and I'm trying to understand them. Now the story. With a newfound resolve to not rage quit, thanks to you wonderful people, I began to go through my Grandfather's meticulously kept coins, grabbing one of the 1959 labeled rolls and as I carefully pour them out to inspect, well I see two wheat ears poking out and I had a small heart attack. His coins are all faced so when one was backwards, I should have known that his wonderfully horrible sense of humor is eternal because he did that on purpose. This is the coin I lost years of my life over. The S on the reverses is what you call a Greaser, yes? Thank you again. I need a drink at 9 in the morning.

MS-62 sounds right, can't evaluate the color from these pics.

Given the photos posted, I'd go with MS61. Yes the reverse S appears to be a greaser/filled die. Nice coin.

Thank you my good Coinfrog, that's what I'm talking about. I would like to change my own answer to RB. Is this pic Better?

And thank you jn1944, great year. I can totally agree with 61. He's got some wear, for sure.

I never knew age to be a factor in grading.

Some rub on cheek and jaw. The general "dirtiness" of the coin indicates it's seen a little circulation.

Any grade MS-60 or more is not supposed to have any wear at all . So now he comes in at AU-58 with a slight wear and blemishes . I'm also at AU-58 .

You are all awesome. Thank you for the knowledge. I haven't figured out how to answer people individually yet (I know, tutorials, I'm on it before I post again) but I learned so much in so little time from you. Thank you again.

MS-62RB. Doesn't look like wear, just stored improperly over the years.
