I would like to know if there are any good places to go metal detecting near London. I am fairly new so I don't know many places to go at the moment

It seems like "mudlarking" on the Thames is quite popular if you believe what you see on YouTube. There may be permits and such though.

Thank you, I am aware of this and am thinking of doing this at some point, but currently I am trying to find other places with easier car acces

Your best option would be to see if you can join a local club - they will be listed in 'Treasure Hunting' magazine and on the internet.
