What can yall tell me about the colorized State Quarters I can't find to much online and somr sites even said that they're not legal tender. Found this one that has led me to the question.

Use the search box upper left of page. It is legal tender. The coloration is done by a company not affiliated with the U.S. mint and adds no value to the coin. Most true numismatists consider it PMD. John1

For me, these are fun to look at and may encourage budding Numismatists to get started, but I wouldn't pay beyond face value for one.

I did read that it was basically re-minted at a private mint. I figured it was worth more than face value based on whole sets. Very cool to find though and will display it as a conversation starter

This site was actually super helpful about them just by going through some comments on other posts

I wouldn't use the word "re-minted" to describe it. Just painted. The third party companies that painted them, over hyped and sold the sets for ridiculous large amount of premium. If I found one it would just go into my jar of packet change to take to the bank. If you like it, and want to keep it, cool! Just don't expect it to every be worth anything.
I see entire sets of these at auctions that sell for face amount or less. Plus the auctioneer gets their cut. Most times consigners would have been better of just taking them to the bank. Even full sets.

I personally don't like them at all. I guess I'm a purist when it comes to coins - I don't buy into these gimmicks..

Just aftermarket garbage to me. Pay a premium, sell at face.

I agree with Spence. While myself I do not collect them, both non-collector and new are often drawn to them. As to paying a premium, there is no difference between colorized and mint issued since both are sold above face value. Originally these sold well over face, and they still do. Only the number of potential buyers has changed.

I hadn't planned on buying one honestly but after hearing from all of yall I especially never will. Still a random thought provoking coin if you don't know anything about it

I always wonder how much money is spent doing that.
