Hey CCF Family, Looking for some thoughts on this newly discovered, for me anyways. 1930 Well Toned Buffalo nickel, I believe it to be a die clash? Has anyone seen one like this out in the Coin World. Please is this a good find? rarity level. I've had this coin a long time and never notices this until today. I liked it for its color, natural or not. Please let me know what you think. Be honest, don't be shy. Thank you in advance.

I see a lot of damage, but that's about all.

Coinfrog, what do you make of the straight edges on the rim of the coin. Never seen damage make those kinds of angles evenly spaced apart. You might want to look again. I could be wrong.

@arb, my initial thought is damage also. What does the rev rim look like right there? Is it also dented at an angle?

to the CCF!

It looks to be just Post Mint Damage. It may have been pressed against another coin (in a vise?) which left the strait edged impressions on your coin. If you measure the diameter of the coin, you may find that it's slightly larger from the damaged edge to the opposite edge than from any other two points on the coin.

Here's a Clash Overlay of a Buffalo nickel. You would expect a die clash on this coin to look something like this.

LOL I am posting several Lincoln Cents with some issues. Please take a look on new topics. Thanks again.
