I have quite a few of the 2017 p shield pennies and I cant help but think this one is thicker in the word "liberty" am I just seeing what I want to see?

Unfortunately, it looks to be 2017-P 1¢ WWHO-001, one of the two doubled working hubs that Wexler has. This means that there are tons of these out there and no premium for it. Good eye though, you did pick up on doubling. Look at the damage on the T and you will notice a small die chip just above the damage, you can see the chip on the listing too.
