Not a big thing. When the die has a chip, all the rest of the coins will have the same one or sometimes even larger/more of the die chips. If the chip happens early in the dies life, then a lot more of them will be found. If it happens later in the dies life, few of these will be found. But the die chip is not that large. To a new collector they look huge. But to a seasoned collector they are not a big thing, compared to other interesting die coins found that year.

not necessarily, some folks like to keep the more interesting chips in 2x2 holders for reference or because they just look interesting (like this one - a beauty mark on the presidents' chin).
However, there is no extra value added to the coin, still worth 10 cents

Personally, I wouldn't keep it, but maybe that's just me.
