Just got my tube of type 2 Silver Eagles. I can't tell if this is grease on one of the sun's rays or something else. Best I can do with my current microscope. Thoughts on this?

I just added a third photo. I was able to very carefully with a small soft plastic pick knock off whatever was there, only to find this damage. Must have gotten something on the planchet before it was struck? And those other very small looking scratches were already there....I didn't do it! :)

Well it looks like a strike through and you knocked off the object that was the obstruction, now you just have the indentation of it. Now to the left of the dent I see what looks like roller lines, but I'm sure the experts will pop up and give their explanation of this.

A wanna-be MS-68 or 9, but no longer.
A case where a minting error detracts from the value.

I agree it looks to have been debris struck into the coin and you dislodged it, leaving only the impression. I don't see any notable up- or down-side value wise since these are bullion coins.
