I have about 40.00 in Canadian cents at home that are all pre-1950
Are there any dates that I should be looking for as far as rareity or errors?

The most valuable pre-1950 coins are the key dates of 1923 and 1925, but the whole series of 1922-26 are worth a good premium.

There is also a valuable die variety for 1949. here's the diagnostic for the 1949 "A to denticles" (also called "high relief obverse")
Check the alignment of the last A in GRATIA to the closest denticle. The valuable version is on the right.
If in doubt, post a pic and I'll give it a crack.

I checked some of the cents last night, out of 5 1949's I found 1 "A to Denticles", It's pretty cool how that happens.

Is there any worth to them?

"A" to denticles, $25.00 in VG-8 according to Trends.

That's not a bad haul.. The cent is in pretty nice shape, Other than being a little dirty, it's about the same condition as the photo above.

Kurts coin is probably EF, if yours is EF, Trends, has it at $65.00

Sorry. The pics are a bit blurry, I cant access the picture room.. the darn cat had kittens in there..

I think the coin is in pretty decent shape, I don't want to clean it too much

It may not be as nice as Kurts, but it is a very nice one, can't really tell from the pics.

And, NO, don't clean it at all.
