Hi all,

My grandfather recently acquired a large coin collection when a friend passed on. He has asked me to help him identify and value the collection.

We found this cool coin which I have been able to identify as a 1913 or 1915 Buffalo Hobo Nickel. I have been attempting to do a visual comparison based on the images and qualification specifications over at the Original Hobo Nickel Society's website. I don't feel great about any of my guesses. Please help in any way you can!

Looks like a 1913 to me. Can we get a shot of the reverse? As to the artist, I can't be of any help there.

I'm no expert but it looks very fresh and not very well done. None of the valuable hobo artists colored them in, that I'm aware of.

The date looks to be 1913. Possibly a type 1 raised mound nickel, a shot of the reverse will verify that. The engraving appears fresh, meaning it is most likely a modern reconstruction and not a classic artist.
Suffering from bust half fever.

It is definitely a 1913, the 3s back then looked a lot like the 5s.
