I was about ready to mount this coin in a bezel for a necklace and saw in here someone saying, yikes, no ! So I'd like help for you experienced coin collectors grading this one please.

I've had it foe awhile and either need to sell it or wear it, not put it back hidden away.
Thank you !

We would really like to help you with the grading but in order to do so,
a clear picture of both sides is required.

If it's genuine don't mount it. If it turns out to be fake, mount it and enjoy it.

.
A genuine 1856 three-dollar is likely worth over $800 in circulated condition as long as it's not cleaned or damaged. If mounted as jewelry the value is likely cut by a third or more. Three-dollar gold pieces are extensively counterfeited so a fake is possible.

Please post photos so we can offer better information!
