I don't think it's a die chip John1, it connects directly to the claw just like the other one and I know this is a know doubled die spot. And the shape of it and size exactly like one of the other claws seems unlikely. Though I'd like some other opinions

It is a Die Chip. This question has come up numerous times. This is just one of the past threads on this subject. http://goccf.com/t/363075

@jimmyD thanks for the threat link, I really thought I had one this time lol, well one day I'll come across one. I didn't inspect this one closely so I'll have to take a look later when I have some time. I needed this one for my collection anyways of American quarters, I also found a effigy dunes P, and a everglades P both of which I needed.

After seeing the other other example I agreed die chip, a very tippy shape and place for one but die chip non the less. Ill find a DDO / DDR one of these days. Probably after I can make it to Burlington.

When the design is used for a very short time, the design flaws take over. So this happened a lot on these dies.

The bear looks like the one that hangs in my backyard on Mondays because he knows trash day is in early morning On Tuesday.

Probably if you put the can out more often with a very ripe stinky dead animal in the can, he would probably stop looking to see what is inside the container?
