I've noticed that some pics can be clicked on, then a new pic comes up that you can zoom in on, maximize etc. But sometimes when you click on the pic, nothing changes. Is there a trick to post ones that you can zoom?

The forum will resize photos to a standard size, you can post photos up to 1200 pixels on the largest size. When you click on the photos they pop up to that max 1200 pixel size. I'm not at my computer to demonstrate but majority of my photos when clicked on will show at max resolution. I resize to either 1200 by X or X by 1200, with 1200 pixels being the largest you can post without image artifacts from the jpeg compression.

Thank you hfjacinto. I went back to my last post that had photo's. 1 you could zoom, the other you couldn't. I rely on the image optimizer, and all I had paid attention to was the 300KB limit. Sometimes pushing it, sometimes not. So the ones on the thread had been through the optimizer, 1 worked. I reloaded the good 1 and checked out the numbers you suggest. Pretty close to 1200. Then I pulled up the bad 1. I had to forget about the 1 that had been through the optimizer and reload the original and crop again. Cranked the number up to 1200, resaved, loaded, and bingo, this one you could zoom. I think I've got it. Thanks again.

I use Irfanview to resize. Check out my tutorial on posting pictures, step 5 and 6.

You can only click-to-zoom if the image size is larger than what your screen/window is currently set to show.

You can get browser plugins to allow you to zoom beyond the image size. I use one called Zoom Image in Firefox.
