2 Liberty Gold Five D Cufflinks - Trying To Determine Value

1). To determine if there is any numismatic value the coins need to be carefully/professionally removed from the bezels. Most likely whomever made them used the most common (cheapest) coins they could find to do it. The coins and bezels are worth their malt value but may be worth more as jewelry to some people.

2). The coins are NOT uncirculated. They were not uncirculated when they were originally placed into the bezels.

3) to the Community!

When two of my kids were born, my parents gave them 1/4 oz gold pandas. A 1982 and a 1983. These are sought after dates but unfortunately they were encased in bezels as a pendant. Looking at them, there is zero chance of getting them out without damaging the coins.

Thanks for your feedback everyone! I have no complaints that they're worth melt only - there's 26 grams of metal here. I will say this: I found the exact pair on another pretty well known selling website (no not ebay). The listed price is $3900. Yes, I understand anyone can list for whatever the heck they want - doesn't mean it will sell for that price. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything on FMV for these beauties...

Ooooooh! Is that an 1881-CC? Just kidding. It might be worth popping it out just to make sure.

Not much market for cufflinks these days, so these are melters for sure. Like buggywhips and sterling button hooks they're past their prime.
