I can't see it either.
Are you sure it's even there? Forbes was the only printer for France (unlike the case in Italy, Germany, and Austria), so would they have bothered with an F?
If it is there, it must be on the front in the scrollwork somewhere, like it is on the other notes, but I can't see it.

according to Schwan-Boling, World War II Remembered pg 280, all the French notes had the Forbes Printers mark...but unlike some of the other issues, they don't indicate where. I am about to the point where I am going to email Fred Schwan and ask him...dean

Wouldn't it be a laugh if he didn't know either?

Even if there is an F, it tells you nothing because, as someone just mentioned, Forbes was the only printer for France.

the reason for the question is that the WWII Rem. also states that there are some confirmed counterfeits out there...dean

Counterfeits?
You know, I could see it if they were worth a huge amount of money, but with the exception of one that was not issued, but has turned up out there, the price on them is still fairly low.
Idea: Scan yours at a bit bigger than full size and let's take a look.

Alas, image too small to check. Will your scanner enlarge as it scans?
