Hello I'm new here just kinda started collecting and I came across this 2021 quarter and noticed what I think would be a die error but maybe someone can help me out, tell me what you think.

Picture is a little blurry but it looks like the C has taken a hit pushing the metal back.
It would be considered damage, not an error.

Note: It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin,
anything else is considered damage.

This looks like a contact mark, possibly from the reeded edge of another coin.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I agree, post mint damage. Most likely caused from contact with another coin.

Next posting, please give us whole photos of both sides of your coin, with a couple closeups of areas of interest. Thanks.

Looks like the reeds altered that device from another coin.
