Yes, it is stamped on a gold necklace. I was hoping to determine the karat rating of this piece since no other writing appears anywhere on it.
It would have been helpful to know this data since I know that any producer of gold jewelry pieces will 'NEVER' produce a piece of jewelry with a higher karat gold % than what the karat stamp designates. Anything to the contrary would cause a manufacturer of the gold piece to lose $...
A karat stamp always gives me a point of reference to begin the scratch test with the appropriate mixture of nitric/muriatic acid etc.
B/t/w assuming a long shot that this name originated in the same geographic location where the miners extracted the gold from the ground, what would be the country with the greatest probability of meeting that criteria? This type of information could assist me to more rapidly associate foreign numbers with 10k, 14k, 18k, 22k or even pure gold @ 24k etc.
