I've had this 1970 Denver mint dime I believe that's the old torch that's on the reverse but I'm not sure can you guys give me some insight.

Yes. You absolutely have what is referred to as the 1970-D Reverse of 68. I believe its classification is FS-901. I have found many of these CRH'ing over the years. There is too much to explain here as to how this happened so please take it upon yourself to look up this variety that is relatively unknown.

It is the 1968 torch but it is a variety, not an error.

These are more of a BU coin to collect. Many worn examples in circulation. The contact mark on the cheek pretty much turns the coin into a cull coin.
