Hi there my name is Kate and I'm from Ontario, Canada. This is a delayed introductory post. Forum member Wrekkdd is a great friend of mine. :) I inherited 3 coin collections years ago as a teenager after showing interest in coins and beginning my own collection. I'm very very much an amateur and collected mostly circulated "sets" as well as pennies. The 3 collections I've acquired are my Great Grandfather's on my mother's side, my Grandmother's on my Dad's side, and my Dad's. Pretty sure I cleaned my Dad's at some point, but I haven't messed with the other 2 at all out of fear. One is in an antique cocoa tin, and the other an antique change purse. Wrekkdd has generously offered to help me grade, document, and properly store my coins for future enjoyment &/or inheritance. None of these coins are for sale unfortunately, as I intend to pass them on as a family heirloom one day. All of Wrekkdd's inquiries will be mainly for documentation/grading purposes. Thank you to Wrekkdd again, for all of your help, and thank you to everyone on the forum for sharing your knowledge. Have a great Sunday everyone. :D - Kate

Hey Kate:) glad to see you decided to join, there is an infinite amount of knowledge from some very reputable people in the numismatic community. I'm happy I get to study your coins as I don't get to look at many older coins so it pushes .e to study more(which I love) check out some of the posts through here, Coop has some amazing posts that are very in depth you should go through.

Hi, Kate, and welcome to the forum from a fellow newbie. Best of luck with getting your collections preserved, documented, and valued. I'll probably watch your future posts (and those from Wrekkdd) for any wisdom that I might be able to use for my coins.
Again, greetings and welcome to the forum.

@AFVet1982, I am fairly new my self and have learned a lot from this site and members on it. I have to research basically every coin Kate has individually because my knowledge on older Canadian coins is very limited, her coins give me a chance to learn about part of the hobby that I have yet to study very much. There are many MANY members here with much more knowledge that would be far better equiped for this task, but I'm happy to learn anything that I don't know. And this is a good opportunity. Thanks again Kate:)
