I am as probably green as they come.Ive had some old world coins that my father gave me years ago and never have done anything with them..Im getting older and slowing down. Its cold outside so, I thought I would dig into them and try to see what I have.I am excited about these for I think I may have some very unique and old coins .so please bare with me if I ask stupid questions and seem ignorant about coins in general..

well his one of 137 coins I have that are odd and very cool..This is US coin of some sort..maybe a sample token passed out at the mint is my guess..

That's OK. The Mods would get bored if people didn't keep posting threads in the wrong places.

As for your medal, I'm not sure - I've never seen one before (but that's not too surprising, given that I live in Australia).

The Philadelphia Mint did open it's new facilities in 1969; presumably this medal commemorates this event.

That is a bronze medal commemorating the opening of the new mint in Philadelphia. It is a US Mint product and it was available on the Mint website until recently, but for some reason most of the medals disappeared about a week or two ago Medals for other mints and the Dept of Treasury were also available.
Yours should be either a 3" medal or a 1 5/16" medal.
