I just received my two coin reverse proof American eagle set.
I am attaching a picture of the Westpoint reverse. There seems to be glue or other foreign material on the coin. The picture I am sending is a close-up of the affected area. Should I open the holder and try to remove the material or send back to the mint for replacement? One picture is 5X and the other is 10X
Thank you!

Mine didn't have glue but my Type II was flat and weak I posted pics. Is your bust and sandal like this? http://goccf.com/t/408565

That's disappointing. The Mint will refund money for returns, but I don't know if they do exchanges/replacements. Call them. If it looks like the material is stuck between the coin and capsule, you could carefully remove capsule and see if it will come off by blowing with a hair dryer or using soft cloth/cotton swab? Someone else got a damaged set and sold it on ebay, telling buyers of the problem.

They'll refund but you won't get a replacement. Keep it.

Maybe sell and try to find / trade for a better set?

Thanks for the replies. It has taken the mint 2 weeks to respond to my emails and phone calls are just about impossible right now. Wait time is in the hours and never had a call back. I am going to keep the set and see if whatever is on the coin can be removed. The mint does only refund and no exchanges or replacements.

Hopefully just debris that can be blasted away with some canned air. Good luck!
