Hi all, like my previous post from a few days ago, here's another 1967 penny with what appears to be (emphasis on 'appears to be') the slight doubling under the 'L' in 'Liberty'. Is this a frequent thing found on the '67 penny? It's hard to believe I'd find two die gouges in nearly the same spot otherwise. I appreciate any thoughts, many thanks.

To me it looks like a match to Coppercoins 1DD-001 by the looks under the L in Liberty. Check out the die markers for this one on coppercoins.com

Meant to add the link for coppercoins.com for your Cent. You should be able to copy and paste it in your browser. Hope this helps.

The shape doesn't look to be a match to 1DO-001. This is another that doesn't seem to match any of the listed ones and may be too small to confirm.

I just looked at it again Tanman and I'm now too seeing the small "what appears to be" a little area of doubling below the L is in reality a bit longer and larger on the op's coin than the supplied pics on some other sites. Wondering if it could be due to die stage? I agree that it is extremely minor doubling if it is doubling at all. Just didn't appear to be a die chip IMHO.

It looks closer to DDO-002.

Note the die scratches on the LIB area? They are stronger on the V.V. example.

Coppercoins 1DO-001 is a match to the DDO-002 on V.V.

Check for these die markers? Later die state from V.V's example.

Three examples on Wexler site:

WDDO-001 is a match to DDO-001.
The WDDO-002 has a smaller size doubling mark. So check each listed example to see if you can find a match?

DDO-002 is listed as a SMS coin, I'm not sure that cross-reference is correct.
