tdziemia Pillar of the Community United States 7936 Posts	Posted 10/10/2021 10:10 pm While poking through acsearch recently, I ran across some references to this collection of ancients and medievals, which was auctioned off at Roma Numismatics in 2016. A part of my family was in the circles of eminent American physicists like Dr. Gell-Mann, but I didn't know he was a coin collector. Curious if any of our ancient collectors (or collectors of ancients ) has anything with provenance from that collection. Report this Post to the Staff

The thing that impressed me about this group was how unpretentious they were, at least in social settings (another one went on to win a Nobel in Chemistry). As an aside, I noticed that Roma mis-attributed the only coin from Lorraine in that collection. A common one that a few of us have in our collections.
