I am fairly new to this forum. one if my very first posts here, I posted a nickel, which almost everyone described as a
Cud. today while reading from the forum, I followed a link to conecaonline.org. about 3/4 of the way down the page, I find am image of an identical coin, credited to Mr.Brian Higgins, of Naples, Florida. his error is described as a 1996D, doubled struck with a very with rotation of the second strike. my coin is virtually identical, but possibly in slightly better condition.
how could the date and mint mark be determined - and what are the odds of such an identical error. is this truly an oddity.
edited: after re-reading the section at conecaonline.org - the dated cain is the one in the rear of the phto, and the
Cud is the front coin. it appears we have two identical
Cud coins.
