I want to get my 1996 w dime graded. Where is the best place to send it in? or is it even worth it. Coin-Grading Coin-Grading

What are your goals? If the value of the graded coin is under $50, it's not worth it to me.

PCGS & NGC are the top 2 grading companies. You'll have $40 invested in this coin after grading and you'll need to make that call.

What is special about this dime?

Nothing special just starting out collecting and wanted a slabbed coin. Was not for sure of the cost of getting one graded. Thanks for the info.

elsjls: to CCF!

If you want a slabbed coin there are many available on ebay for under $10. Many moderns that graded below 68 can be picked up very cheap.

Look for a series that you like and you'll probably be able to find a slabbed MS67 or PR67 very cheap.

Stick with a reputable company. I only look at PCGS, NGC, ANACS, & ICG.

Even though the 1996 West Point dime was a "special," one-year issue, there were still a million and a half minted. By all means, get it slabbed if you wish, but it's very likely that the cost of slabbing it will exceed the value of the coin.
