After finding Roosevelt with a cold sore (bottom right) I began paying attention to I stumbled onto what I assume are die breaks.. one of them may even be a DDO.. However after "stacking" image layers in a graphics program I assume my eyes played tricks on me.. (before anyone says anything please note that my microscope remained stationary and I slid a strip of paper with multiple dimes with the same orientation.. this counters any arguments concerning lens distortion.. When the die is tempered, it can be quenched in water too soon and make the die brittle. When this happens we will see these die chips. I'm not a collector but love and hate the hunt.. writing sticky notes on the wall.. put down the coins and create art.. I joke this with people who see me digging in one of the change cups or when I'm moving a book covered with face up coins.. .. "just don't.. it's a rabbit hole" .. no disrespect to the community.. you know exactly what I'm talking about. I just found a '15 dime that has a near perfect torch but the outer 1/4" on both are very "soft"/ blurry.. I will post it when I get back later. Report this Post to the Staff
