I definitely enjoy my coins. I have some that have been in my possession up to thirty years now; looking at them brings back a lot of memories.
Me too. I've been collecting coins for well over 60 years now. I go to about 2 to 4 coin shows a month. I somewhere along the line completely lost interest in the hunt, search, etc for coins. I like the coins I have and many for well over that 60 year mark. Neve sell any so have lots from when I was a kid. If I find one at a show I like or want, I buy it. If not, no big thing. I've got coins my Dad gave me in the 40's.

Just carl, I really hope one day my kids can post somewhere like this that they have coins their dad gave them. My eldest is 4 and he is already showing an interest, my youngest is 9 months but he only wants to eat them.

I was a little older when my Dad gave me coins to collect. Not to much older though. I still remember those shinny, silvery looking pennies he gave me that just came out. I really liked those so he found or got as many as he could for me. I still have about 30 to 40 rolls of them, now in plastic rolls, almost all brand new and all from my Dad. Every once in a while I look through them and don't know why but then I remember my Dad and that is something better than looking for any other coins. You may well be surprized at the things we remember about our parents. Forgot to mention those were the 1943 Lincoln Cents in 1943.

Interesting topic. I am grateful for every coin that I have. I love the story it tells. And I love to give coins away to add to it's story. So, yes, I do enjoy my collection. I do a lot of buying, selling, and investing as some of you know. It took me a long time to separate the collector in me from the business end. But I have found that I am a collector at heart. I think that's why I enjoy selling coins as well, whether it be on ebay, CCF, or Locally. I am a firm believer that if you have a passion for something and do it to your best ability, you will be rewarded. I guess that's why I have 4 different businesses that were hobbies and now supply my income...pretty cool.

Up until about a year ago, I was getting bored with mine. I had collected all the series I enjoyed, so I didnt know what to do with them at that point. I discovered the registry programs on NGC and PCGS and now collecting competitively has helped me enjoy them again!

My favortite coin series are in Dansco Albums, and I look at some of those almost every evening. The few valuable coins I own are in a safety deposit box -- which I haven't visited in over a year. I slowly but surely give coins to our three children and six grandkids. My hope is that at least some of them will keep the coins, become collectors themselves, and pass the coins on to future generations. I am a collector (since the mid 1950's). I am also a hoarder (55,000 Lincoln Cents, 500 Statehood Quarters, etc.). Whatever category I fall into, it's been a wonderful hobby, and continues to give me pleasure.

I too feel some historic feelings too when I see or touch a coin. I especially get that feeling around the Morgan dollars.

I enjoy every coin I have and everytime I get a coin a never had. I love looking at my coins once in a while as I remember not only the historical backgrounds but the sentimental side of the coins. Whether it was given to me by a loved one or by someone I made happy. Whether I got it expensive because I like it very much or I got it at a bargain for being lucky. I have always enjoyed collecting and keeping doubles for whoever I can also make happy by giving or by swapping.

In one word, absolutely! I've been collecting since I was 13 years old. I've gone in other directions since buying my first coin, an ancient, and still love every aspect of this enriching rewarding hobby. I will continue to buy and sell coins for the rest of my life. I love seen new people get the "bug".
