Was going through pocket change and discovered this (dirty!) dime. Am I mistaken, or is there another mintmark — a faint "S" NE of "1996" and SE of the "P"?
to CCF. A P minted coin like yours if it had a S mint mark above it would be called an OMM=over mint mark. OMM's stopped in 1955 so your coin can not be a P/S. Your coin looks like the so called S is part of the corrosion not a mint error. John1
