This is actually a proof, and I wondered if all proof coins are cameo. To your question about the camera lighting, I feel the settings and such tweak the true color somewhat.

@here, I also struggle to take good pics of super-shiny coins and this proof dime seems to have great mirrors for the fields. Maybe try diffusing the light more with tissue paper?

first off are you using a smart phone to take these pictures? what you are seeing is a reflection of they camera phone. the 'blue' you use may be the black case of the phone, that is being filtered by the film on the 2x2 and the lighting.

Before 1973, No. Cameos were unusual to rare. 1974 on cameos are the norm and non-cameos are unusual (but no one cares). In 1973 it can kind of go either way a lot are cameo but some are still brilliant. 1973 was the year the mint started actually trying to make the proofs cameo.

looks like a slight layer of toning developing to me, brought out by the light. I was thinking it was the light passing through the 2x2, but on the reverse you can clearly see it's the surface of the coin because some spots near the edge don't have it. I think it's toning imho.
