Not one of the stronger tapered planchets, but certainly a loss of "trust" of the minting process.

I was thinking the same thing as CH27, but with a weight like that, tapered planchet seems right.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Nice find. I find these very interesting coins. Could you photo the edge next to a normal Wheat cent (with a cell phone for instance)?

Thanks folks! I noticed the lack of similar weakness on the reverse, but there is weakness on the wheat and rim, so I went with tapered planchet (common on this year) as opposed to a lost lamination across TRUST that was then struck weak due to that. Also didn't think a bit of lost lam on trust would lower the weight that much. I have another 1952 that look almost identical to this one which I think I posted almost exactly a year ago.
