Identification Help For French Napoleon Bronze Medal

I found a recent Roma auction with a similar piece. Here is their description: Quote: France, First Empire. Napoleon I Æ Medal. Celebrating the Arc de Triomphe. Struck in 1975 utilising an obverse die by Jean-Bertrand Andrieu (1761-1822) and a reverse by Auguste Albert Herbemont (1874-1953). Laureate head to right, ANDRIEU. F. below truncation / The Arc de Triomphe with the sun rising behind; ALBERT-HERBEMONT below. Edge stamped with date, Paris mintmark and BR. 39.23g, 41mm, 12h. Pacificoin Pillar of the Community Canada 5394 Posts	Posted 10/31/2021 8:31 pm That colour and the edge marking " Bronze " , modern French Mint @ Paris . Definitely post WWII , most likely late 1960s era. Those boxes were used in various forms from the early 1900s until the late 20th Century . The French Mint , like the US mint make modern restrikes of Early medals / medallions . A good read on French Contemporary Medals . Bramsen if you can find a copy . Report this Post to the Staff
