Hello :) and just thought I'd drop by and say hi, and you guys are very helpful. Wish alot of you lived closed by, LOL.

I got my very first metal detector today! I saw a great deal and went for it. Its used but it aint new, and its not beat up. Its a Whites MD Pro 6000 XL for $150. It came with a Whites Carrying bag and Headphones.

Only bad thing is its dark already and I wish I could go outside and start digging holes in my backyard :D

Ahhhh I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

H Desde

Welcome to the forum !!!

Sorry for the late response but my work hours take me away from the forum in the evenings.

Glad to have you here with us, and I will be eagerly awaiting to hear about your finds with your detector,, I have used the 6000 before its a great machine and can be used for all types of detecting with great success, from coins to relics !!

Tell you a little secret,, Metal detectors work in the dark !!! Just get yourself a little headlight and go for it !!

I live in the desert and summertime is mostly night hunts for me !!just falt too hot in the day time !!

Well bad enough, this morning it was raining! :(

Ok I was testing it inside though, I remember he showed me how to get it going.

Air and then ground it.

I grabbed a penny, nickle, dime and a gold ring.

This thing is awesome! When I start and if I find ANYTHING i'll let you know! :D

Welcome to the forum Desde! I myself am metal detectorless at this time. Have thought about buying one for the last two summers but keep putting it off. Who knows this could be the year!!! Wish you luck with your new venture and can tell you PRACTICE, PRACTICE and PRACTICE!
