Hi, Please help me grade this token. I find it quite hard to appropriately grade colonial and pre-confederation tokens of Canada. In my opinion, the following token would grade EF-40. Thanks!

According to Charlton, in deciding the grade one must consider who made them. Some of them are crudely made.

I think that might go AU-50 actually. Though I'm still a bit of a neophyte on the tokens and, as has been pointed out above, calling grade on them is challenging due to the fact that so many of them were made relatively crudely. Though that one looks quite good.

Many thanks for your comments. I believe these were well made but I do not know the manufacturer.
Also, would this be the long right ribbon variety (NS-1D2)?
Thanks

I think it's XF-40+ and, as above, might have a shot at AU on a lucky day. I think that it's been cleaned though.

Thank you okiecoiner. Can you elaborate on why you think this coin has been cleaned? Is the color off?

Yes, the color looks off and somewhat washed out, but that could just be due to looking at a computer photo rather than in-hand. Just my opinion.

All 800,000 were produced at the Birmingham Mint in England.
