Struck in high relief by the Medallic Art Company, then located in New York City. Bronze, 38mm in diameter. This was one of a series of 37 medals produced pursuant to a commission from the National Parks Service. The design is attributed to painter and sculptor Frank Hagel.

The Medallic Art's series for the National Park Service was/is a great series for those with an interest in the parks and the US' natural wonders.
