I don't think this is a die chip- it's too big. So what is it? It caught my eye right away.
OOps. I need to edit the photos.
By the way the obverse is normal.

If you are talking about the high spot on the 4th column in from the left, then I think this is just metal pushed up from a ding or a scuff. A clash would show up between the columns, not on top of them. I think this is post mint damage.

I have found many with that mark and I believe it to be a die clash.
Notice where the back of the neck will leave a mark.

thingee, Notice all the polishing/grinding marks from repairing the die. I'll bet that the whole area around the memorial is slightly raised looking. I'm no pro, but have seem many of these.

Mikep, I see what you mean about the die polish marks. I didn't notice that this morning. I might have to back peddle on this one.

After Mike saying that it was a clash I looked at it again and I agree. It is pushed through. I notice that this area on the zinc coins is frequently subjected to a clash some more noticable than others. And Rockdude thanks for pics. It's the perfect illustration!
