I received this dollar from the mint and upon opening the box, saw a faint brown line on the reverse. I opened the capsule and the line is part of the coin. I called the mint and was given little hope that the coin could be replaced. Does the line decrease the coin's value?

Why would it increase the value? Most likely something that detracts from the value. Just my 2 cents.

Agree. This surely could only detract from the value. to the CCF!

Definitely detracts from the value. I would try an acetone bath. I hate having to go to such effort for a coin from the mint. It's worth the try.

Others have gotton damaged Morgan/Peace. Two of mine have dings in the fields. I mentioned this on another topic, on US Mint Facebook page a Mint rep. admitted there are problems with some of these and they will be posting a comment about them in the future. They may extend the return period or something like that.

Is that a scratch or just some sort of mark?

It's a mark of some kind. Not a scratch.

I'm getting more and more nervous about my coins with every passing day. I have not yet seen mine because, as soon as I got them I placed them back in the mail to PCGS.

They truly messed up with these coins
