Please Help Grade My 1946 D Nickel With Pink Toning

This isn't really my area of expertise, but it seems odd to me that the steps are so much better defined than the design features on Monticello just above (e.g. the columns and doorways). Could the steps be tooled or is this pretty typical? panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18708 Posts	Posted 11/10/2021 09:11 am weak strike both sides which is why the steps and text are sharper than the rest of the reverse tough to grade from the photos. could be AU58 or MS62 it may also be details due to the obverse hits on the chin. the coin does appear to be 4-steps and not 5. the bottom step does not appear to be separated Report this Post to the Staff
