I've no seen more than a few cases where ANACS is grading coins as being cleaned, and I don't see them as being harshly cleaned at all - no hairlines et al.

Look at this coin for example with is a Brittish Farling

I see fingerprints on this coin, but cleaned ...not at all. Where is the evidence for being harshly cleaned?

ANACS is not throwing every coin that has been in an acetone bath as cleaned. So what is up with this? I am not seeing what they are seeing. Educate me?

I'm not sure, but the color seems a bit off, maybe that was the reason for the designation?

I agree, the coin's color does not appear to be the result of natural toning.

Not natural colour at all .
Coin is obviously cleaned
probably stripped and rubbed with Dellars
Darkener or some sulfur based chemical
compound .

Not all types of cleaning are mechanical/result in hairlines. A coin can be cleaned with chemicals that strip away its original surfaces. That is what you have here.

Yes. Unnatural color is often a giveaway for a past "cleaning" and, potentially, additional restoration attempts.

You may not agree with it, but ANACS is correct in their assessment of the coin shown.
