I'm not very good at attributing the varieties but learning slowly. Could I solicit some advice? The motto IN GOD WE TRUST does not appear to have any doubling no matter how hard I stare with 16X. LIBERTY has noticeable doubling on the tops of the letters more prevalent on RTY. The date shows the doubling also with the primary numbers being south of the underlying. Full shots are perpendicular and the cropped views are on slight angle. Is this a case of Machine Doubling or an actual DDO? I also have the cropped views at 90 degrees also but didn't want to clutter the board. nlp

I would go with Machine Doubling at this level. If you had more detailed photo of the date, liberty and motto, it might help.

If I get time tomorrow I'll take it with me to an R&D shop with my camera and use their scope. Got to get me a scope someday. Thanks for the input. nlp

As one who spends far too much time staring at coins through loupes and microscopes, I might offer some advice.
I find it's easy for my eyes to play tricks on me if I look too long and hard at a coin because my mind fills in the blanks.
One thing I usually try is taking closeup photos under several lighting angles. Then I use a good resource to compare the possible DDO and markers on my coin.
Another thing about die varieties that's helped me--a real one doesn't have just one confirming detail, but usually many in exact positions, ie look for the forest, and not a single tree.

In terms of your coin, I see something on the date and LIBERTY. I don't see notching, but I'm unsure here as I only know a few Lincoln varieties

I know this might be kind of crazy, but I only have a 3/8 or so round magnifying glass at the end of a 2 1/2 inch steel tube and that is it. It saved me money to the point where I didnt have to go out and buy a scope or whatever. All I do is hold it up to my camera ( walmarts kodak 8.1 megapixel ) then I focus in. I usually end up with the scope really close, but it works great. Just a thought to you.
