I especially want to see a detail of "GRATIA" on the obverse.
There is that valuable "high relief" variety.

51's through '54's (the so-called "blue nickels" are prone to rusting because they're steel covered in chrome.

Good question -- I have a few of these myself and they're rusting too. I have contemplated automotive chrome polish that contains a remover for surface rust, but was actually too chicken to go and try it. The thing is, the rust is probably rough in texture by now, and I don't think this treatment would be good enough to remove all of it.

The problem with these is that they were chrome plated before the planchets were punched which left the steel exposed on the rim sides. Also any scratches exposed the steel and allowed rust to take hold.

What, you Canadians didnt learn from our debacle in 1943 with the steel cents?
In my experience with rusty steel cents, there is not much you can do once it has started. I have soaked those with a lubricant/penetrant like WD40 and that seems to help marginally. Olive oil or mineral oil might help to loosen some of the surface rust as well.

If I might be honest, this one's a goner.
