Picked this up in a $30 auction lot was buying rocks didnt notice the tin of coins hidden behind a selenite tower. Auctioneers in NZ do this, hide some of the auction items in the listing. Please grade.

I'd say Fine / Good Fine but cleaned - it looks as if someone has polished it. A shame also about the verdigris on the reverse. But 1875H is a scarce date and mintmark and many collectors would still be interested in a coin in this condition, as most 1875H pennies are worn discs with hardly anything visible except the silhouette of Victoria and the date and mintmark.

Cleaned fine, catalogues £40 in Fine. The verdigris and cleaning would halve that. So I would say $30 was the right price.

Good coin though, agree with Rob, most pre 1885 bun pennies are nothing but worn discs with a date on them.
