I'm Masters Prestige with RCM. Last night, I realized RCM cancelled my two orders without notifying me. I'm still shocked and here to seek advice. The first order - 5 oz Peace dollar - was placed by my representative on October 27. It's cancelled on October 28. Because I was not notified, I missed the chance to buy it on the launch day from other dealers. The second order - 1 oz Peace dollar & bluenose wrapped roll set - was ordered by myself online on October 27. It was cancelled on November 8. I was not notified for this cancellation either. I was shocked because I had received confirmation emails for both orders and expected to receive them. I was even more shocked because I was not notified for any of these cancellations. I emailed my representative last night. He apologized. He said the 5-oz Peace dollar was oversold and he forgot to notify me. For my second order, he said it's also oversold. But I still don't know who cancelled it and why it had to be my order. I also question why the cancellation came two weeks after the confirmation. I have dealt with other dealers (CC&C, GateWest, etc) and I have been on this forum for a few years: I never heard of cancellations like this. I'm wondering if I should move my business with RCM to somewhere else. Am I over-reacting? Anyone else experienced cancellations like this?

i have had orders cancelled in the past, but I was only a gold member. I would talk to your rep. and see exactly why this happened, you have a rep for a reason. and that it to get items before others do, your items shouldn't have been cancelled. the coin show had both coins available to sell after they were sold out at the mint..

My husband ordered the bluenose rolls! I hope they don't get cancelled! I've had cancelled orders from the RCM before. On the pendant bezel necklaces they sold for about 5 minutes. I'm sorry this is happening to you. Best of luck.

@silverwolf Thanks for your input. I emailed my representative on Tuesday. All I told was the items were "oversold". There was no other detail offered to me. Yes, we have representatives for a reason - this is true until it's not. My unfortunately experience is the evidence: confirmed orders - not one, but two - were abruptly cancelled and they don't even have the courtesy to inform their customers. And I'm a "Prestige" Masters Club member, currently paying off a $11,000 coin in five payments with them. This demonstrate how much they care - or don't care - about a customer. @TitaniaSalix Thanks for your nice words. My second order contains the 1 oz Peace dollar, which was oversold and cancelled. I don't think the bluenose rolls were oversold; I'm sure your husband will receive it.

@YesorNo The only thing I can think of as to why the orders were cancelled could be that when they went to authorize $$$$$ on your posted credit card with RCM, even though you are not charged until delivery of items, your card may have been declined. Check the card that the RCM has on file is correct and check your expiry date of such card. This could just be one possibility.

@New1954 I believe you will receive an email notification from RCM if your credit card is expired or rejects the charge. Besides, I'm paying off the $11,000 bluenose coin with RCM using the same credit card; they don't have a problem charging it every month.

Sorry to hear about your cancelled order. I am also a Prestige member that received the advanced notice same time as you. I ordered both the 5 oz and the 1 oz Peace dollar. My rep replied next day saying the the 5 oz coin was sold out. The order for the 1 oz was confirmed. In my opinion, the fault is with your rep. Given you have spent $11,000 you deserve better service. What's the point in having a rep when that person did not give you the courtesy of notifying you of cancellation? Forgetting is not a good excuse. Otherwise you could have ordered elsewhere like I did. My rep is pretty good. Good communication and he never cancelled any order Ordering through the Mint is vastly over rated. You get better service with other dealers since I always get them faster than through the RCM. And cheaper through other dealers. The only reason I order from the Mint is to maintain MC membership to get MC Exclusives coin. If not for that I would bypass the RCM when ordering coins.

@MoneyPenney Thanks for your input. That's exactly what I thought. I felt I was treated by RCM like a number, not a human. I certainly will NOT reward this behaviour and will reconsider all of my future purchases with RCM.

@YesorNo I did not mean to offend you with my comment. When I go to my online banking, I can view what charges are pending immediately after my order is accepted by RCM on my credit card even though the RCM will not actually charge until items are shipped. It happened to a friend of mine when he used a credit card that had a small limit on it when he hadn't realized he had gone over the limit on that credit card and purchases were declined even though he pays his balance completely off each month. I was trying to figure out why RCM would do such a thing as it has never happened to me once in all the years I have been buying from RCM. I am truly sorry for your lost opportunity for getting the items you wanted. My rep is great and he will tell me if the item is sold out as I only made prestige for 2021 but soon will be a diamond member by the end of this year if I receive all the coins I have ordered because it is the BILLING that counts and not the orders on file. Question: were the 10 cent coin orders cancelled as well or just the one ounce silver Peace dollar on that same order?

@New1954 I wasn't offended; on the contrary, I appreciated your participation in this discussion. You asked an interesting question about my second order, containing a Bluenose roll and a 1-oz Peace dollar. My answer below may shock you. In my "Translation History", my second order completely disappeared: Below is the confirmation email for my first order, which appeared in "Translation History" above. Below is the confirmation email for my second order, which is DELETED from my "Translation History" above. I'm a software engineer, so I probably know a bit more than an average person about what's going on in their software system. There is a difference between changing an order to "Cancelled" status and deleting an order. My second order was deleted by RCM. Now there is no trace of that order in my translation history. So the question is: why did they do that? they could have changed my second order to "Cancelled" status - like they did with my first order, but they chose to delete the whole order from their software system. What do they want to hide? p.s. for privacy reasons, I removed my address and last few digits of order numbers.

I have seen it where orders I have been waiting for have disappeared from my Transaction History. But yet when I looked at the product listing page, I would see the "Already owned!". In the My Collection, the coin would be shown there with the order number, yet it did not show in the Transaction History. At one point I was going to get in touch with my rep to asked what happened. I waited and did finally receive the coins, and I just dismissed it as a bug in their system. It really messed me up with the 50 cent rolls and I ended up placing another order. Turned out with that the original order did finally reappear and both orders were shipped. That was one I didn't mind as I ended up getting the max allotment of the old version 50 cent rolls. So if it looks like an order disappears from your transaction history, check the product page for "Already owned!", and the Your Collection for the coin or product showing the missing order number. I hope this wasn't too confusing.

@rjlavoie That's exactly what I do. I placed an order for the EXCLUSIVE Masters Club Renewed Silver Dollar Series: Coin #7 and 100th Anniversary of Bluenose Commemorative Collector Keepsake as well as the 100th Anniversary of Bluenose Special Wrap Roll Set and that order was not in my purchase history for the longest time. But it was in my collection with the web order #. So I decided to contact the RCM and they responded that there was a problem on their end with the website and not to worry about the order. Now it is in my purchase history. I guess they fixed the problem. I've never had any of my orders cancelled since I been buying from the mint in the past 12 years. Hope that continues.

@rjlavoie and @jimper: Thanks for your comments. Your observations were very helpful. So I just took a look at my collection history. The 2022 1-oz Pease Dollar & Bluenose rolls do show up there. However, my credit card hasn't been charged for that order and I haven't received any shipment email. So I don't understand why these two items are in my collection history. I hope this is a glitch on RCM end and I could receive this order eventually.

@yesOrNo
maybe it is a glitch. if the items appear in your collection, click on the order number shown and see what happens.
Also, you are not billed until items are shipped.

@New1954 I clicked on the order number in my collection history. And I saw the order I placed. I was glad to learn that my second order was still alive . To sum up the events so far: my first order was truly sadly cancelled. My second order appeared to be "missing", but it's not.
