This 1911 "First Steamboat" elongated is listed as 'LAno1' in Martin & Dow's Yesterday's Elongateds catalog, and I have managed to find examples rolled on a Wheat cent, Liberty nickel, Barber dime, Barber quarter and British Penny.

There's another 1911 First Steamboat variety in Martin & Dow listed as 'LAno2,' which does not have the phrase "Play the Ohio," but I haven't been able to find any examples of it. Can any Louisiana collectors help me out in locating one? Thanks!

Interesting set of elongated coins you have there...the holed example is on a 1911 Canadian large cent ( Godless legend) not a British penny but I can understand why you may have thought that with George on it.

I hope you find the one you're looking for!

Thanks, Iron Horse, a Canadian cent makes a lot more sense!

Never considered the fact that same die may be used on different coins. That must make an almost infinite number of combinations for the elongated collector.
Do many of the original dies from the machines exist?

A few dies exist from the older machines, but they are scarce and collectors are quick to report and/or cancel old dies when they are found. The catalog Yesterday's Elongateds also reports the existence of some specific dies and warns that re-rolls are possible.
